She already has 200k, and has been properly maintained throughout her life. Think I can get another 50k out of her?How many more miles do you think a 1997 BMW 528i has left in it?Take your BMW and flip it over on its roof. Look on the bottom of the car, just behind the firewall on the driver's side. There you will find a date stamped into the sheet metal. On this date the vehicle will suffer a catastrophic mechanical failure and you will need tow it to the salvage yard.
Seriously, don't flip your BMW on its roof. Last time I looked, vehicles did not have expiration dates.
It's a crap shoot with any old vehicle, foreign or domestic.
The older the vehicle is, the more likelihood you will have mechanical issues. It is unrealistic to expect any 14 year old vehicle, domestic or foreign, to be trouble free.
It can depend on how well the previous owner(s) maintained the vehicle. If it was well maintained chances are better that there will be fewer problems. If the vehicle was neglected chances are you will have more problems.
It can also depend on how the previous owner(s) used the vehicle. If it was driven normally chances are that it will last longer. If the previous owner(s) beat the crap out of it chances are it won't last much longer.
It also depends on how well you maintain and drive the vehicle. Take care of it and don't abuse it and chances are you will have less problems. Neglect it and beat the crap out of it and don't expect it to last long.
There are far too many variables for anyone to give an accurate answer to a question like this. Try this. Pick a number. Any number. It will be just as accurate as any wild guess given here. How many more miles do you think a 1997 BMW 528i has left in it?No one can tell you exactly how many miles a used car will last. I would say that the AVERAGE well maintained car should be expected to go at least 250K miles, but there are always exceptions. Good Luck! How many more miles do you think a 1997 BMW 528i has left in it?That is impossible to answer

How to pair a bluetooth phone with 2005 bmw x5?
My bluetooth phone cannot find my X5. Do I need to do anything on my X5 for my phone to find it?How to pair a bluetooth phone with 2005 bmw x5?This site should help:
http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Content/O…How to pair a bluetooth phone with 2005 bmw x5?First, determine if your X5 has bluetooth installed in it. Bluetooth-ready does not mean bluetooth is installed.
See your list of installed options.
Also please tell the forum if your X5 has Navigation and therefore a central information display or not. The procedures would be different (if the option is installed).

What cars are similar to/competitors with the BMW 3 series?
I'm currently looking into a 3 series coupe, and they seem pretty awesome in every aspect. But maybe there's something else out there that's a bit better in some aspects. I see so many 3 series out there, and for good reason, since they are solid cars, but I want one you don't see too often. What cars are similar to/competitors with the BMW 3 series?I would definitely test drive the new Infiniti G37. The G35 was nice, but the G37 is nicer still. Sticking to coupes - I would also look at the RX8, and the new Audi A5 (not sure if it's available yet).
And the BMW 1 series will be around soon - similar performance, but smaller and cheaper, should be a great deal (for a BMW).
As for non-coupes, the new C Class, the Lexus IS, Audi A4
Personally, I'd go for the G37What cars are similar to/competitors with the BMW 3 series?Volvo S40 T5 is a great car if you get it with its sport kit. More reasonably priced. Looks very similar to the BMW 3seriesWhat cars are similar to/competitors with the BMW 3 series?top contenders, benz C220 AMG,
AMG and BMW M series are basically jacked versions of either make, as with previous answerer, Volvo s40 T5,
of course the Subaru Impreza WRX and Mitsubishi EVO (though they pose more for styling fun rather than styled fun)
Impreza has 4WD and better acceleration than the M3 but comes with HIDEOUS gold mags and a spoiler too big for comparisons

Is it possible to replace the lens cover on the headlights for a 2005 BMW 325i?
My headlights work fine, but over the years the plastic covers have become scratched and cloudy. Can these be replaced short of replacing the entire headlight assembly? Can they be buffed out somehow? Is it possible to replace the lens cover on the headlights for a 2005 BMW 325i?According to realoem.com there is lenses available that run in the neighborhood of $100 per but there is a few companies like Meguiar's and 3M that offer restoration kits that basically sand the top layer of plastic off your headlight and polish the fresh plastic. I have never used them myself but have never heard anyone say anything bad about them. There is also people that will be able to do the repair for you. You may contact your dealer or check craigslist to find one.Is it possible to replace the lens cover on the headlights for a 2005 BMW 325i?Hi Eric!
Jeff says yes you can rejuvenate your headlight lens. You can purchase a special kit to do that at Autozone, O'Reilly Automotive, or probably Wal-Mart. He said it should cost @ $20.00
Hope this helps, and all is well with you. We are doing fine here, but still hoping for cooler temps.
Love,
Aunt Dori

Moving from Florida to Toronto Canada. Should i sell my BMW or take it with me and register it in Toronto?
I live in Florida and own a 2009 BMW 335i (no liens) valued at $USD45,000. I will be relocating to Toronto Canada soon. Is it better to sell my car in Florida and buy a new 1 in Canada, or just drive the car to Toronto and re-register the car there. Any idea of cost to transfer and register a US car in Canada?Moving from Florida to Toronto Canada. Should i sell my BMW or take it with me and register it in Toronto?Hi, I suggest sell the car and buy another one in Canada.!
It depends of many factors if you are canadian or you are not, PLUS (+)
forms, originals, money, copies, license, insurance, registration, time, weather (-5 C with wind factor -19C), waiting time, your Status, Immigration, etc, etc, etc .

Al the best for you and wellcome to Canada !Moving from Florida to Toronto Canada. Should i sell my BMW or take it with me and register it in Toronto?
There is a bit of hassle but not a lot. You may have to get a Daytime Running Light module installed but a Canadian BMW dealer can do that for you. Your speedometer already has metric speeds on it and no one cares if your odometer is in miles.
Likely you will drop $300 or so registering it in Canada. Plus the cost of the lighting control module if they make you get one. You could also ask the dealer in Florida if they can get you one or check out the link below.
Or do a Yahoo search for "adding daytime running lights BMW"Moving from Florida to Toronto Canada. Should i sell my BMW or take it with me and register it in Toronto?Your car was built for the USA market.Canada is all metric now.You will need a letter of compliance from BMW USA stating that you car meets all Canadian requirements.Even if it does you will have to pay tax on it again.Might I suggest that you call an international broker to see if it is economically feasible? If its your personal property and you are bringing it with you for your personal use (ie: not to resell it) then it will just cost you the fees to register it in Canada. Most likely under $100.Moving from Florida to Toronto Canada. Should i sell my BMW or take it with me and register it in Toronto?Take it with you. You will lose too much in depreciation by selling an almost new car and replacing it.

Should i drive my bmw m3 in the winter time?
I have a 2002 bmw m3. should i drive it in the winter time? i am going to put 4 blizzak snow tires.Should i drive my bmw m3 in the winter time?Even if you put snow tires on it, it still sits very close to the ground. That front air dam makes a wonderful snow plow, making the tire's job even more difficult trying to push snow. Although the Blizzaks are wonderful tires, on this car because of the size of the brakes, they are still mounted on a large wheel, which requires them to be low profile. Fat, low profile tires are not good in the snow.
In the end, it would be better than with summer tires, but not great. Keep the M3 at home when it snows, and with tires that belong on it, high performance ones. Drive something else. The price of those tires could buy you a cheap beater for the winter.Should i drive my bmw m3 in the winter time? There's nothing wrong with driving it in winter conditions as long as you have the proper tires fitted and the proper mental attitude about driving on ice and snow.
