How come the 1999 mustang gt does 0-60 and 1/4 mile just as fast as a '01 audi s4?

Isn't the audi supposed to be faster since it's so much more expensive?How come the 1999 mustang gt does 0-60 and 1/4 mile just as fast as a '01 audi s4?European cars in general are not geared for fast 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. They are engineered to hold triple digit speeds at a constant rate without a hitch. Take that crappy Mustang for a long drive on the Autobahn and see what happens. I would bet that after an hour of constant speeds in the 135 mph range the GT's engine would seize. When you get the Audi you get those wonderful headlight washer nozzels that always leak, better suspension, independant rear-axel.. etc etc etc. Then you pay shipping from halfway accross the world and for the 4 rings on the front of your hood. Then you got yourself a 50 thousand dollar car.



Mustang, you've got a car that was purpose built, straight line racing. Makes lots of torque to get them off the line, and enough horse to keep them goin. They're pretty close to the same weight as the Audi, and make quite a bit more power. This all equals up to a car quicker in the quarter. But you can bet the S4 will take the Mustang in a mile.How come the 1999 mustang gt does 0-60 and 1/4 mile just as fast as a '01 audi s4?Try comparing the 2 track times, the AWD on the Audi is going to give it a huge edge. Plus you pay for all of the engineering that going into getting 250hp out of a 2.7L. The reason that the A4 is slower is that the B5 S4 was pretty heavy, and the V8 in the mustang is going the give you a pretty good 0-60 time. European cars just aren't built for that. Try looking at a 0-120 time, Im sure the S4 will be better at that. I know my A4 doesnt pick up till at least 40mph.How come the 1999 mustang gt does 0-60 and 1/4 mile just as fast as a '01 audi s4?
mustang gt are mostly a car that more bang for your buck its not super luxuriose or super fast but its affordable and pretty fast...........during those years it was hard to find a car worth less than 50,000 dollars but that could beat the mustang now in 2008 its got some competion but i know this because i bought it for that reason and did extensive reaserch before buyin it
