What is the key button in the rear seat of an Audi a4 for?

On the same pillar as the driver's seatbelt, there is a small button with a key on it on a 1999 Audi a4. When I press the button, nothing happens. I do not have the owner's manual for the car so I cannot look it up. Do any of you Audi owners or enthusiasts know the answer to my question? Thanks in advance. What is the key button in the rear seat of an Audi a4 for? This switch switches your car alarm system on or off.If the alarm is set you will get a short beep when you lock the doors. On the drivers door panel there is also a switch with a key on this locks the doors if you are inside and wish to drive with all your doors locked. The reason that you have a swich inside on pillar is that if you say left a dog or any thing that moves around it alters the air pressure inside the car that could trigger the alarm.I have an A4 uk spec. What is the key button in the rear seat of an Audi a4 for? That little switch actually controls the motion sensor feature of your alarm. You can switch it on or of with that button. It has nothing to do with air pressure...LOL.
