What is the key button in the rear seat of an Audi a4 for?

On the same pillar as the driver's seatbelt, there is a small button with a key on it on a 1999 Audi a4. When I press the button, nothing happens. I do not have the owner's manual for the car so I cannot look it up. Do any of you Audi owners or enthusiasts know the answer to my question? You can switch it on or of with that button. It has nothing to do with air pressure...LOL.
