I am a qualified BMW Technician working in southern queensland and considering a move, been weighing up options and am seriously considering Perth, So my question is a 2 part first how do you guys rate the place. cost of living and lifestyle. and secondly if any one works in the motor trade what can I expect to earn there.
Many thanksI am a qualified BMW Technician and considering a move to Perth, what are the pros and cons of Perth?Perth is pretty good really. Its a bit dull but if you much prefer eating out and going to wine regions over pubbing and clubbing you shouldn't have a problem. The weather is mild (though a couple of weeks ago we had a freaky hail storm) and there is plenty of space.
Housing is expensive and it sucks but what can you do? Food is also expensive wether is be eating out or grocery shopping (you officially pay more for a coffee in Perth than any other city in oz) but public transport and our infrastructure are pretty good.
Shopping isn't that great. We lack decent trading hours and a wide variety of stores, but there are not many of us which I guess is why we don't have them.
Overall I think its a great city. Just stay away from Northbridge and public transport at night. Its full of drunk bogans/aboriginals picking fights. Fremantle, Subiaco and Hillarys have better restaurants and pubs anyway.I am a qualified BMW Technician and considering a move to Perth, what are the pros and cons of Perth?Perth is very different from southern queensland, mainly as our housing is very expensive in comparison, secondly we are so isolated and travel is expensive to the eastern states.
There is only 1 BMW retail outlet, but there are several mechanical businesses that specialize in BMW. Why don't you check out the yellow pages and contact the BMW repair businesses and see if there is a demand for your services, easy enough for you to phone each business and ask if they are looking for an experienced mechanic.
Secondly, do seriously consider the cost of our realestate, I love looking at what I could own in QLD compared to what I do have here.
Understand that Perth is also isolated in our own state, to go away we think nothing of driving for 3 hours for a weekend away, 5 hours away for long weekends.I am a qualified BMW Technician and considering a move to Perth, what are the pros and cons of Perth?Giving birth can be one of the most rewarding, if not physically demanding, things you will ever do.
Oh, "Perth".
Sorry.I am a qualified BMW Technician and considering a move to Perth, what are the pros and cons of Perth?
Well, the biggest problem might be that there's really only one Bimmer dealership here (Auto Classic, over on Burswood), and the economy sucks right now.
