I have just got a new 6 series and have connected my ipod, but unfortunately instead of displaying albums/artists etc it is coming up with random letters?Why is my ipod displaying funny characters on my BMW 6 series?Take it back to the dealer, it sounds like it could be one of a number of problems:
1) The lead is faulty
2) You're not using a genuine BMW lead
3) Your iPod is faulty
4) Your iDrive is faulty
Eliminate each of the above and let me know how you get on.

Bring it back to your dealer and ask nicely for their help (not to arrogantly order them to repair your problem, which could actually be a problem with your ipod and not the car).Why is my ipod displaying funny characters on my BMW 6 series?Sounds like the computer does not understand the language if it was assembled in Germany maybe they set in german language but im not sure!
