Will a 2005/6 BMW M3 motor bolt in to a 1999 BMW 318is chassis?

I am thinking of converting a BMW 318is into a M3.Will a 2005/6 BMW M3 motor bolt in to a 1999 BMW 318is chassis?This would be an expensive and hard changeover.
