Here's what I've found on Wikipedia. Seems like 14 (if you include Reggie Bush) of the like 80 (or so) Heisman Trophy Winners hail from CA. I know that CA also has the most NFL players (in fact, if Green Bay had won out, then both Super Bowl QB's would have been from CA - both Brady and Rodgers are from CA). I also know they have the largest population, but they are not known for being FOOTBALL crazy like TX, OH, FL, and GA are (as an example). What do you think?
The Great Heisman State (via Wikipedia)
California has produced the most Heisman Trophy winners. Thirteen winners were both born and played high school football in the Golden State. Six played collegiately at USC and one each at UCLA, Stanford, Army, Texas, Colorado, Notre Dame, and Miami.

Alot of pro's come out of california for one reason, shear population, there is more of a chance of a person going pro from a state with a population in the multi millions compared to state like north dakota with a entire population of around 600,000 people.
No.
Florida has produced more current four and five star current college players, followed by Georgia, then California, then Texas. Is California the greatest football player producing state?
Yes. We also have some schools in the top twenty-five highschools in the country. Amani toomer, maurice jones-drew, and dj Williams all went de la salle, rated in the top 10. Have won like six of the last ten state championships.
Over 40 million residents, almost double the size of the next state? I can't imagine why Wyoming can't compete on these statistics, let's see what could it be, what could it be, nope I'm stumped. Is California the greatest football player producing state?
No, California is not the greatest football player producing state. Personally, I believe that it is either Pennsylvania or New Jersey. The Pennsylvania/New Jersey area has produced so many good (but way underrated) players, who have gone on to have success in the NFL, all the way from Franco Harris to Victor Cruz.
Okay, so California and Florida produced the most oranges in the nation....
Yes and we have the best weed too
Well California Close but it's behind Texas and Florida . California Produce the best Quarterback, that why you have so many Heisman trophy winner but Texas produce better Athlete .
