What landmarks and tourist sites are near eachother?

We are coming to Chicago for a week and would like to see all the tourist sites. I haven't been able to find any good maps online to figure out what landmarks and sites are nearest to each otherr. Here are the things we would like to see: Grant park- the fountain, miracle mile, that bean in Milliennium park, Sears tower, Lincoln park, Lincoln park zoo, Navy Pier, John Hancock center, Gino's east, Billy goat tavern, the Cubby Bear (we're also going to an afternoon cubs game) the United Center (we're going to a hockey game)and White castle burger. We were thinking of taking the trolley tour our first day there to get situated with where things are located at. We are staying right in the middle of downtown and won't have a car, so we're not sure the best way to get around, we figured mostly walking. is that doable? What landmarks and tourist sites are near eachother?
You best bet to see a bunch of tourist attractions/stops would be to start at the far north end of Michigan Ave., near the Oak Street beach. From there you can walk south and see the John Hancock Building (go up to the Signature Lounge and have a drink. The view is amazing). Keep walking south and hit Water Tower Place (an indoor mall), the actual Water Tower (the only building left in that area of the city after the great Chicago fire.. it's still standing), Niketown and the Tribune Building. Near the Tribune Building are stairs that go down to Lower Wacker Drive, which is where the original Billy Goat Tavern is located (ask someone). From there, you can walk east to Navy Pier, a very touristy place but sort of fun.

If you go back and continue walking south on Michigan ave., you'll hit the Chicago River. Depending on when you get here, you can ride one of the sightseeing tour boats (there are also tour boats at Navy Pier). Come back up to Michigan ave, keep walking south and you'll hit Millennium Park (which is part of Grant Park), where the Bean is located. There's also an outdoor bar there too and depending on the weather it's a nice place to have a drink, eat, etc. Keep walking south on Michigan Ave. some more and you'll run into the Art Institute of Chicago. Finally, from the Art Institute, walk west to Adams and Wabash and look for Miller's Pub, a true Chicago bar. They serve food there and get pretty busy with the afterwork crowd.

A lot of the other place you mention are kind of spread out so it's not as easy to get to as simply walking south on Michigan ave. The United Center is on the west side of the city, the Sears Tower is in the west loop area, Buckingham Fountain is near the South Loop area, Lincoln Park is in Lincoln Park on the north side, the Cubby Bear is further north and across the street from Wrigley Field and White Castles are kind of spread out (I'm sure White Castle has a website that lists Chicago locations). So like I said, none of the other places are near each other. You'll have to travel a bit to get to each of them, probably on a bus. It's doable but takes some planning. If i were going I would group all of the things on the north side together as one trip (zoo, Cubby Bear), then make a trip to see the Fountain and Sears Tower.

Oh, and skip White Castle. Not worth it no matter where it's located. Trust me, you'll be disappointed. Most of them are hangout for derelects, which is why most people use the drive thru

Staying in downtown Chicago is perfect for what you want to do. Check out transitchicago.com for "l" and bus schedule/routes. There is also a trip planner feature (which includes popular destinations). It is only $2 per ride (you can also purchase day/week pass which will allow unlimited rides during that time period). Don't bring a car it is extremely expensive to park downtown overnight and would be much cheaper to take a cab.

Try the chicago google map.

The Hancock building is near the watertower at the north end of Michigan Ave (miracle mile). Grant Park contains the the buckingham fountain, millennium park, and the bean. Take the red line "l" to wrigley stadium. Sears is near Jackson/Wacker. United Center - take a bus/cab.

Have fun. Chicago tends to be friendly so ask for anyone who doesn't appear to be in a rush for directions/help.What landmarks and tourist sites are near eachother?
You won't need a car..parking fees will shock you. You have a partial list already. The John Hancock Bldg. and Water Tower are both on Michigan Blvd (magnificent mile) and close. Also close to each other are the Field Museum and Shedd Aquarium, with the Adler Planetarium and Soldier Field nearby. Millenium Park with the Bean, The Art Institute, and Buckingham fountain are in Grant Park.

The trolley connects all these and many more...no need for a cab.
