Places to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in Chicago?

I'm going to be in Chicago for spring break, and I was just wondering if there are any good places to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in Chicago. For breakfast, I normally like little cafes or places where they serve a tradition tasty breakfast. Nothing too pricey please. For lunch and dinner, I pretty much like anything except for indian and middle eastern cuisine. Somethings that I like are steak, sushi, mexican. I'd also like to try some Chicago hot dogs and deep dish pizza while I'm here, so if you know any good places, please recommend. I was looking at another question someone had asked about places for sushi in Chicago, but the places the people recommended didn't look so traditional and a little pricey. So, if you know any traditional or good sushi places, let me know! :) I've heard of a lot of good places to eat Deep Dish Pizza. My teacher is from Chicago, and he said Gino's East is pretty good. A lot of people, in my previous questions, said Uno's was not really good.|||For breakfast check out my favorite place in the city...

***Nookies - 1746 N Wells in Old Town - http://www.nookiesrestaurants.net/oldtow鈥?/a> - Everything there is fresh, traditional, and delicious. The do little different things with breakfast like dip the french toast in corn flakes, then fry it.

***Then there's Lou Mitchell's - 565 W Jackson - http://www.loumitchellsrestaurant.com - which is Chicago's most famous diner.

If you're just downtown and looking for something cheap and quick for breakfast go find Beef %26amp; Brandy, Ada's, Mary's, or the Ohio House Coffee House.

______________

For Chicago Hotdogs, if you're downtown the best is

***Gold Coast - http://www.goldcoastdogs.net/ - the best one is at 159 N Wabash. I don't know whether or not the Popeye's that it shares it's space with adds to it's charm or not.

If you have access to a car the best dog in the city is at:

***Fat Johnnies between 7200 %26amp; 7300 S Western. It's on the south side in a not-so-great neighborhood so if you can do it, go when the sun is out, with a friend.

The 2nd best dog in the city is at:

***Hot Doug's on the city's north side just north of Belmont on California. You can take the Blue Line to Belmont %26amp; walk to California and head north...it takes about ten minutes, and there will probably be a line around the corner for the food, but it's worth it. Especially if it's Friday or Saturday and you can order the duck fat fries.

_______________

Chicago isn't a big sushi town, but you can find a few good places. If you want to avoid the flashy downtown places like Sushi Samba Rio, or Japonais, check out...

***Sushi-O-Sushi - 345 W Armitage - which is a tiny little sushi place with about ten seats in Lincoln Park, or

***Matsuya's - 3469 N Clark St - It's another little hole in the wall in Wrigleyville, very convenient because it's so close to the Red Line. It's a good stop before a Cubs game if you don't want bar food before the game.

***Kamehachi - I think it's Chicago's oldest sushi place and there are a bunch all over the city. It's a safe place if you want something traditional and good.

You'll get a bunch of suggestions for pizza that are all going to include Giordano's, Gino's East, Lou Malnati's, Uno's and maybe even Pizano's. Those are all good places for a traditional pie with the crust being the major difference.

I like traditional too, but if I want a real gourmet style pizza in Chicago that isn't embarassing like California Pizza Kitchen, I go to:

Chicago Pizza %26amp; Oven Grinders - http://www.chicagopizzaandovengrinder.co鈥?/a> - 2121 N Clark - The pizza's are basically deep dish, except they call them pot pies and they're cooked upside-down in a bowl and flipped at your table. The pizzas are wicked, and the building is one the oldest brownstones in the city and the assumed hideout for the St Valentine's Day Massacre.|||Girodano's and Lou Malnati's also have great pizza! For lunches, there is a fast food chain called Portillo's that has great dogs and Italian beef. Mexican there are several good choices in the Lincoln Park area. I couldn't help you with sushi. For American food that is pretty good and a little pricier (and better) than say a Chili's would be Grand Lux Cafe or Cheesecake Factory (if you don't have one where you are from). Ed Debevic's is also a great place for a burger. It is like a 50's diner with rude roller skating waiters. Have fun!|||'breakfast i would recommend IHOP, Denny's, and Hoagie(Cicero, Roosevelt).

lunch and dinner i recommend Ronny's steakhouse and for Mexican Los Dos Loredos, Chipotle and Qdoba Mexican Grill.

Hot Dogs-i recommend my #1 favorite Daves Red Hots at 3422 W. Roosevelt which is the best, Jimmys Red Hots at 4000 W. Grand, Smokehouse in north riverside park mall, Billy Goats at 430 N Michigan or Navy Pier.

deep dish pizza- Damenzos, Home Runn Inn, Papa John and the best hands down is Giordano's.

I not a big fan of raw food so i don't have any places recommend for sushi i do apologize for that. I hope everything else helps and hope you have a good time.|||Lou Mal------ Whatever is VERY good for pizza. They aren't too expensive either.

You know what would be very cool? Go to the Signature room an the 95th floor of the Handcock for lunch. Before you think it's too expensive, they have a weekday and I think Sat special where luch is about $16 for the full buffet. It is very casual, so don't worry about fressing up. They won't take a reservation, so get there when it starts (11:00 or so) to be sure ot get a table by the window. VERY nice and a place that is different. Check it out online.|||you won't find 5 chicagoans who agree on where to get the best deep dish, but i say giordano's is absolutely the place to be.

for brunch, how about newport bar %26amp; grill?

http://www.menuism.com/restaurants/ctY_6鈥?/a>|||For breakfast, I would recommend Le Peep. They serve lunch too, but their breakfasts are great!

http://www.lepeep.com/

For lunch, you have to try Portillo's. They have the best Italina beef sandwiches in Chicago. Also, really good hotdogs, cheeseburgers and chopped salad.

http://www.portillos.com/

For the best deep dish pizza, my choice is Lou Malnati's 'Lou's Special'. They have a really delicious butter crust %26amp; their pizza tastes like no other.

http://www.loumalnatis.com/

For Mexican, try Lalo's.

http://www.lalos.com/|||i am not from chicago, but i go there frequently...ed debevics is a good hamburger joint...i am not sure if the name is right...but look it up online...it is like a classy old school restraunt where the waitresses are really rude and rollerskate...they wear poodle skirts...it is a blast!!! well have a killer time in chicago...and be careful!|||Hands down------------WEINER CIRCLE for hot dogs!!!!

Be ready for lots of stuff on it......yum- the celery salt is great and those rolls. I want one now!
