Moving from Florida to Toronto Canada. Should i sell my BMW or take it with me and register it in Toronto?

I live in Florida and own a 2009 BMW 335i (no liens) valued at $USD45,000. I will be relocating to Toronto Canada soon. Is it better to sell my car in Florida and buy a new 1 in Canada, or just drive the car to Toronto and re-register the car there. Any idea of cost to transfer and register a US car in Canada?Moving from Florida to Toronto Canada. Should i sell my BMW or take it with me and register it in Toronto?Hi, I suggest sell the car and buy another one in Canada.!

It depends of many factors if you are canadian or you are not, PLUS (+)

forms, originals, money, copies, license, insurance, registration, time, weather (-5 C with wind factor -19C), waiting time, your Status, Immigration, etc, etc, etc .

Al the best for you and wellcome to Canada !Moving from Florida to Toronto Canada. Should i sell my BMW or take it with me and register it in Toronto?
There is a bit of hassle but not a lot. You may have to get a Daytime Running Light module installed but a Canadian BMW dealer can do that for you. Your speedometer already has metric speeds on it and no one cares if your odometer is in miles.

Likely you will drop $300 or so registering it in Canada. Plus the cost of the lighting control module if they make you get one. You could also ask the dealer in Florida if they can get you one or check out the link below.

Or do a Yahoo search for "adding daytime running lights BMW"Moving from Florida to Toronto Canada. Should i sell my BMW or take it with me and register it in Toronto?Your car was built for the USA market.Canada is all metric now.You will need a letter of compliance from BMW USA stating that you car meets all Canadian requirements.Even if it does you will have to pay tax on it again.Might I suggest that you call an international broker to see if it is economically feasible? If its your personal property and you are bringing it with you for your personal use (ie: not to resell it) then it will just cost you the fees to register it in Canada. Most likely under $100.Moving from Florida to Toronto Canada. Should i sell my BMW or take it with me and register it in Toronto?Take it with you. You will lose too much in depreciation by selling an almost new car and replacing it.
