How much would you pay for a used dashboard cluster - 1987 BMW 535i?

I think the new ones are like $300? I obviously don't want to buy a new one because the car is 20 years old. Although I'd love to drive the car for another 20 years, that's highly unlikely.

I know nothing about cars, so I was hoping someone could help me out. I'm guessing the used ones have been in cars for more than 100k miles.

Any thoughts on a fair price before shipping, and how long I can expect it to last? How much would you pay for a used dashboard cluster - 1987 BMW 535i?$100 is fair. How much would you pay for a used dashboard cluster - 1987 BMW 535i?
That VDO cluster should last for life of the car. it is NOT working (nothing works) then you need to check the fuse.

If it is semi-working state and throws out incorrect result, then you need to change the SI batteries (Do a search on Internet for BMW SI batteries)

If you need a replacement, most junk yard should have one for $50. Least, you should be able to find one from ebay for this priceHow much would you pay for a used dashboard cluster - 1987 BMW 535i?Look on line for companies that sells refurbished units, or will repair yours. If you "know nothing about cars", changing the SI batteries yourself is out of the question.

Search for "e28 instument panel" and you wil get lots of infoHow much would you pay for a used dashboard cluster - 1987 BMW 535i?
Try standard auto wrecking 18009228281 they have one. Tell them you found them from MS72 on hotlines(they will know what it means). I know theirs has 123137 miles on it... Have a great dayHow much would you pay for a used dashboard cluster - 1987 BMW 535i?What's wrong with yours? I priced used ones out of junk yards for around $150, but decided it wasn't worth it because I didn't like the mileage on any of the ones they had and the only thing wrong with mine is the odometer stopped working.

Check the junk yards, because if you find one with the right mileage it may be worth it to you.

In response to your response: if EVERYTHING on it stopped working it's more likely a loose connection (or a few) or a fuse. Check into that before you look into replacing it.
