In order to fix it the transmission has to come out. This is the time to put in a new clutch, and throw out bearing. Its going to the shop. So find a good shop that knows how to do clutches. best of luckMy bmw wont move in any gear and it makes a grinding noise when put in gear?Possibly something disconnected in the shift linkage. Check that first. The shift lever is now not connected to the transmission. It could be as simple as a bolt fell out. Put it in neutral and push it checking if the driveshaft is turning. If it's not it's a rear end problem. If it is we go inside the transmission and it becomes expensive. My bmw wont move in any gear and it makes a grinding noise when put in gear?Rogers got it. It's the throw out bearing. Not too bad to fix, you can do it with out pulling out the tranny, but you do have to disconnect everything and drop the rear end of the tranny. I personally would replace the entire clutch while you are in there.
