When should I replace the timing belt on my my 2004 Audi A4 cabriolet?

I currently have 49K miles on my 3.0 quattro A4. I have been told different number by people- some say at 50K miles other say at 75K miles. I don't want the thing to snap and cause thousands in damage. When should I replace it and how much should I expect to pay on a 3.0 engine, and should I get it done at n Audi dealership or would an independent place do?When should I replace the timing belt on my my 2004 Audi A4 cabriolet? Most manufacturers recommend changing the belt at 60k miles. If you still have your owner's manual, it will tell you when you should change the timing belt on your particular engine. Most independent shops should be able to do the job. It should cost $400-500.

Note: I looked up your car on Autozone's website. According to them, your car has an interference engine. That means that if the timing belt snaps, the valves might collide with the pistons, and do serious damage to the engine. So go ahead and get it changed at 60k miles, or whenever your owner's manual says you should.
