How easy is it to change a front or rear bumper of an e36 BMW 1995 3 series?

Is this something I can do myself without any previous experience or do I need to take it to a garage?

not averse to using your brain once in a while, has the required tools

(screwdrivers, 8 %26amp; 10 mm. 1/4 inch sockets, torx bits among others), then you can give it a try.

The procedure is as follows (for frt. bumper cover):

a) unclip and remove the rubber guards/strips on bumper using a flat screwdriver cushioned with a rug to prevent damage to the paint of the bumper

b) unclip towing eye cover and unscrew nuts inside

c) remove small screws under ends of bumper which holds the left and right splash shields/end covers, then unclip the foglight cable and the temp sensor cable.

d) remove small screws holding front end of left and right front fender liners

e) pull bumper cover forward and out. The bumper cover is made of plastic and not heavy, but you may require another person to help you for convenience' sake, specially when putting it back. And the ends have a bracket that goes into the slots of a mating bracket.

The procedure for the rear bumper is very much easier than the front

Front as above. To remove the rear. Remove fixings through dirt shield. Remove lower centre trim and look up to find two torx bolts. T45 i think. Ease dirtshields from bumper lip and pull bumper backwards. Hey presto it's off. Good luck.How easy is it to change a front or rear bumper of an e36 BMW 1995 3 series?Pretty easy.
