Mine's got 130K, and I'm trying to figure out how long I can expect to continue driving it. No issues other than usual maintenance stuff. Thanks. How many miles would you expect to get on a 1999 BMW 323IS?The longevity depends on two things: 1) transmission type and 2) regular maintenance.
1. Late 1990s BMW automatic transmissions tend to last between 120k-150k miles, if not abused and regularly maintained at an interval shorter than recommended by BMW.
Manual transmissions, on the other hand are practically bulletproof and will go for upwards of 350k miles without a rebuild, so long as the fluids are changed regularly.
2. Maintenance, including body joint lubrication, differential fluid, brake fluid, steering fluid, etc changes, as well as water pump and timing chain inspection, should be done at regular intervals.
Assuming it's been well maintained to this point, and it's not a slushbox, you can realistically expect to get up to 200k out of the car. That said, the earlier BMWs are going to last longer -- I have a pair of 1987s (a 635CSi and a 325iS that are both manuals and going very strong with regular maintenance.)How many miles would you expect to get on a 1999 BMW 323IS?
You can continue to drive it untill you get sick of maintaining it, or untill the body rusts away.
There is no magical mileage when all the parts fuse together. How many miles would you expect to get on a 1999 BMW 323IS?If you look after you could easily get the same mileage again out of it.How many miles would you expect to get on a 1999 BMW 323IS?
if you do all the regular maintainance then you can expect to get at least 250-300k miles out of the carHow many miles would you expect to get on a 1999 BMW 323IS?all depends honestly... BMW are weird your either blessed with one that last 230k miles or one that craps out at 120k miles. my 325 had 93k miles before i had to put 3 grand into it to get the tranny replaced, and now i just had the muther Fer towed becuase its leaking anti freeze AGAIN and it has 118 k on it nowHow many miles would you expect to get on a 1999 BMW 323IS?
