Many of the flash programs out there bypass a few things to get rid of the governor...thus affeccting other aspects of the car.

You may get more top speed...but your acceleration is greatly decreased.

Getting rid of the governor AND keeping the or close to the same performance aspects of the car is not a "click and its done" deal...it takes a little trail and error.

Sometimes in tuning theres a balance scale.

If you want more of something you have to give up a little something.

Good luck on the Tune. What can you tell me about removing the electronic governor in a 2005 BMW M3?

The Dinan software upgrade, available at your BMW Service Dept, will do this. And the car will still be covered by your warranty.

I did this on my M5 and didn't notice an appreciable difference in performance. Besides, there is nowhere in this country you can legally drive the speeds the M cars are capable of achieving.
